“ Stopping nearby so through I would try out this place and so glad I did, super friendly welcome from the owner. I went for the Bacon and fried eggs on a Ciabatta, not something I would normally have for breakfast but wow it was outstanding. It’s a very unique place with amazing artwork on the walls, a huge disco ball and loads of lights. They have events on too, see their instagram for details. I would highly recommend this place, every time I’ve walked past it’s very busy. I will be back next time I’m in this area. Always nice to support local businesses such as this. Look forward to coming back again. ”

“ Had the most delicious takeaway breakfast this morning from this gorgeous cafe. The coffee was excellent, my smoothie bursting with flavour and made from fresh ingredients and the almond croissant was the best I have ever tasted. I have tasted a few in my lifetime!! Sadly, I am only staying in Nottingham for two nights but I will be back in there again tomorrow before I leave! Staff were welcoming, friendly and efficient. Fab place!! ”

“ We have been coming to bread and lard since they opened. This is such a great space with amazing atmosphere, delicious food and big selection of sweat treats and nice drinks. The food is always on the top level with few classics on the menu and some seasonal options. On Sunday they also serve the most amazing Sunday Roast. On the photos attached we are having a classic ciabatta with eggs, bacon and homemade tomato sauce and the most tasty toasts with smashed tomatoes, basil and olive oil and delicious poached eggs. I also had “burnt honey tart” - can’t stop thinking about it. It’s a great space in the neighbourhood, it brings joy and fun to be around. Good quality, local ingredients prepared with love. Definitely recommend for breakfast, brunches, Sunday roasts, nice wine, beer, coffee or something sweet. It is also very dog friendly which is amazing. Our pooch loves hanging there with us. ”

“ Every time that I have eaten at Bread & Lard it has been wonderful. I’ve never had a better Sunday dinner, the breakfast and lunch options are varied and always delicious and the cakes are lovely. The breakfast curry is always a favourite, whenever it appears on the menu. Everything is freshly prepared by them, which I really appreciate, it is beautifully cooked and high quality. B&L don’t take the shortcuts you that you see in chain, or other local cafes and restaurants. The staff are warm and friendly each time I visit. I love this place. Each time that I leave I am always full of food and joy. ”

“ Was in the local vicinity, when we Googled 'somewhere for coffee and cake. This place was one of a couple that was recommended, So we did, I had the Quiche and my partner order the BLT on Turkish bread... Well presented and very tasty. Deffo recommend to others, btw the interior design was right up our street My only criticism was that: A 12oz cup works better for my coffee, especially Cappuccino or lattês ”

“ I’ve been a regular at Bread and Lard Island since it first opened, and every time I have eaten here it’s been absolutely perfect The culinary skills of both Ben and Sam in the kitchen, paired with fresh and quality ingredients, rival some of the best restaurants I’ve eaten at, and that’s not an over exaggeration. Each dish has its own unique layer of flavours that stand out as well as complement each other perfectly, and all priced very reasonably. The Sunday roast is one of the stand out dishes at Bread and Lard. For portion size, quality, and value for money it can not be beaten. Would 100% recommend for lunch during the week, a nice Friday evening meal, Sunday roast, or just a drink and slice of cake at any time. Also a great option for takeaway if you’re in a rush. ”

“ I stumbled across Bread & Lard Island this week after taking my puppy for his very first haircut. Nestled next door to the groomers, this coffee shop felt like stepping into a slice of New York, with its exposed brick, unique aesthetic, and effortlessly cool vibe. From the moment I walked in, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. One lovely lady even took a moment to chat with me about the book I was reading which I find to be such a rare and thoughtful touch that made the experience feel personal and genuine. The breakfast was nothing short of exceptional. My latte arrived with a stunning design swirled into the froth and I tried a unique cola that was refreshingly different. To accompany these, I enjoyed a perfectly warmed butter croissant and, hands down, the most delicious cinnamon swirl I’ve ever tasted. Soft, rich, and beautifully balanced. Bread & Lard Island isn’t just a coffee shop, it’s a place that makes you feel looked after, inspired, and just a little bit lucky to have found it. I can’t recommend it enough. ”
